seminar: Large deviations principle for stochastically perturbed conservation laws

speaker: Mauro Mariani (Università degli studi di Roma)

abstract: We study a class of scalar stochastic viscous conservation laws, in the limit of simultaneously vanishing viscosity and noise. The solutions of such equations converge in probability to the entropic solution of the related non-viscous conservation laws. We analyze the corresponding large deviations principle; it turns out that the large deviations' rate function is finite only on weak (entropic or non-entropic) solutions of the non-viscous conervation law, and it quantifies how much non-entropic such solutions are.
