seminar: Regularity properties of invariant measures

speaker: Diego Pallara (Dipartimento di Matematica e Fisica "Ennio De Giorgi", Università del Salento)

abstract: Given a second-order elliptic operator $A$ (with unbounded coefficients) on $Rn$, an infinitesimally invariant measure for $A$ is a probability measure $\mu$ which solves the equation $A\mu=0$ in the sense of distributions. Under quite general assumptions on $A$, such a measure turns out to be absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure, and its density enjoys local Sobolev regularity properties. In my talk I discuss global regularity properties of the density, such as boundedness, and decay at infinity.
