seminar: Supercritical geometric optics and boundary layers for Nonlinear Schrodinger Equations

abstract: We justify supercritical geometric optics for small time for defocusing Nonlinear Schrodinger Equations with non-necessarily homogeneous nonlinearity. Our approach is based on the construction of a WKB approximate solution combined with a nonlinear stability result. This allows to consider the case of a homogeneous Neumann condition in a half-space, where a boundary layer appears.
