Automorphic Galois Representations of Type G2

abstract: We apply recent results of Richard Taylor on the automorphic lifting of certain residual Galois representations to the Galois representations of type G2, found recently by N. Katz and myself. As a corollary, we obtain meromorphic continuation and functional equation of the associated L-functions.
