On the volume conjecture and geometric structures on knot complements
speaker: Francesco Costantino (Université Louis Pasteur - Strasbourg I)abstract: I shall recall the definition of colored Jones polynomials of knots and the statement of the "volume conjecture" relating these objects to the volumes of the geometric structures on the complements of the knots. Then, I will comment on the (few) cases where the conjecture has been proved and relate these proofs to a procedure of "summation over non-complete geometrical structures".
