A statistical approach to bipartite entanglement
speaker: Antonella De Pasquale (Dipartimento di Fisica, Università di Bari)abstract: We introduce a statistical approach to the study of bipartite entanglement for large quantum systems; in particular our approach is based on a random matrix model that describes the purity of a party. We write the expression of a partition function, with a fictitious temperature and determine the spectrum of the reduced density matrix that maximize it. In the case of pure states the presence of phase transitions has been unveiled. We can also generalize and discuss this approach to the case of mixed states.
