L^p Estimates for Powers of the Ahlfors-Beurling Transform

abstract: In a 2006 joint paper with Petermichl and Volberg exact asymptotics for powers of the Ahlfors-Beurling transform T were proven. In the present talk I will discuss a few related results and a possible connection between the p-1 problem and the de Branges theorem on univalent functions
