Continued fraction encoding of kneading sequences
speaker: Carlo Carminati (Università di Pisa)abstract: We will show that a certain set E, which is relevant in connection with the family of $\alpha$-continued fraction transformations, is also connected with the set $\Lambda$ which encodes all possible kneading sequences of unimodal maps.
The set E can be described in terms of (ordinary) continued fraction expansions and is also strictly connected to constant type numbers.
