Knot polynomial invariants in topological fluid mechanics

abstract: The Kauffman bracket polynomial, Jones polynomial and $S_L$-polynomial for (un-)oriented vortex lines are constructed in terms of helicity in fluid mechanics. This establishes a direct relationship between fluid mechanics and knot polynomial topological invariants.
