A mean curvature flow in the Heisenberg group

abstract: The gradient flow of the "Carnot-Caratheodory" perimeter in the Heisenberg group is represented by a PDE system reminescent of the classical mean curvature flow. We will discuss some recent work joint with Mario Bonk (U. of Michigan) concerning self-similar solutions and the behaviour of legendrian foliations.
