Generation of Equilateral Polygonal Knots
speaker: Kenneth C. Millett (University of California, Santa Barbara, USA)abstract: Two strategies of generating random equilateral closed polygons employ polygonal folds and crankshaft rotations as their basic operation. The two methods will be described and their implementations compared via several applications to the study of the average properties of knot space. This is joint work with Sotero Alvarado and Jorge Alberto Calvo.
