Spreading speeds and dynamics of reaction diffusion equations with general initial data
speaker: Yannick Sire (John Hopkins University)abstract: In a joint work with Francois Hamel, we describe precisely the behaviour of parabolic reaction-diffusion equations in periodic media with respect to their spreading properties. We introduce several new notions of spreading speeds, corresponding to general initial conditions and prove some bounds on them. In some particular cases, we manage to describe exactly what are the spreading speeds.
