Mathematical models for the cochlea: wavelets and the affine group

abstract: The hearing process is based on time and scale invariance. Mathematical models for the cochlea (our inner ear) have to respect this invariance. In signal processing the wavelets are the tools which display the same invariance behaviour. In this talk I consider the question How can wavelets be used in the mathematical models for the cochlea?
