Topological mixing for residual sets of interval exchange transformations

abstract: T is topologically mixing if for every pair of nonempty open sets U,V there exists N so that Tⁿ(U) intersects V for all n>N. The set of topologically mixing interval exchanges with a non-degenerate permutation on 4 or more letters is residual (contains a dense G-delta). This is joint work with Jon Fickenscher.
