Teichmüller theory and surfaces in 3-manifolds

course: Ideal webs and coordinates on the moduli spaces of flat connections on surfaces Part I

speaker: Alexander Goncharov (Yale University, Mathematics Department)

abstract: Ideal web is a topological data on a surface which is an appropriate generalization of the notion of an ideal triangulation of a surface.

I will show that given an ideal web on a surface there is a cluster coordinate system on the moduli space of flat $GL(n)$-connection on a surface. In some particular cases it reduces to the coordinate systems defined by Vladimir Fock and the author a decade ago.
