Hamiltonian quantization of kinks

abstract: The kinks are soliton solutions in for example the sine-Gordon equation and other relativistic equations in two space-time dimensions. They are the simplest topological solitons and have a mass and obey the relativistic energy momentum relation. We discuss their quantization in the Hamiltonian framework with attention to the mass gap.
