Entropy and homology for pseudo-Anosov homeomorphisms

abstract: By analyzing surfaces in 3-manifolds, we deduce an interesting connection between the entropy of pseudo-Anosov homeomorphisms and their action on homology. This is joint work with I. Agol and D. Margalit.
