Multiple polylogarithms of roots of unity

abstract: Multiple polylogarithms of Nth toots of unity occur in quantum field theory in the cases N = 1,2,6. This talk will consider all the cases with N < 9. Some of these are covered by conjectures by Broadhurst, Kreimer and Deligne. The cases with N = 5,7 are more delicate.
