course: Quantum Schroedinger bridges and quantum control

abstract: We present a variational principle within Nelson stochastic mechanics that produces the wave packet reduction after a position measurement. This stochastic control problem parallels, with a different kinematics, the probabilistic problem of the Schroedinger bridge. We then discuss how a suitable extension of this variational technique may represent a general way to attack the steering problem for quantum mechanical systems.
