Surfaces with prescribed, almost constant mean curvature

speaker: Paolo Caldiroli (Università di Torino)

abstract: In this talk I will discuss some problems about the construction of surfaces with prescribed, almost constant mean curvature. This can be accomplished by folding Delaunay surfaces in a suitable way, according to the nonconstant part of the prescribed mean curvature function. This affects also the choice of the Delaunay parameter. The results are obtained in a joint paper with Monica Musso (University of Bath) and in a work in progress with M. Musso and Alessandro Iacopetti (Università di Roma Sapienza).
