Very weak solutions to wave equations on graded groups

speaker: Nurgissa Yessirkegenov (Imperial College London)

abstract: In this talk we discuss the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for the Rockland wave equations on graded groups (which include the cases of Rn, Heisenberg, and general stratified Lie groups ) when the time-dependent propagation speed a(t) is Holder and distributional. In the case a(t) is a distribution, we introduce the notion of ”very weak solutions” to the Cauchy problem, and prove its existence and uniqueness in an appropriate sense.
