Mini course: Carnot-Carathéodory visual boundaries
speaker: Luca Capogna (Smith College, USA)abstract: We will provide a very succinct introduction to Gromov hyperbolic spaces, and to the quasiconformal geometry of their visual boundaries. After looking at some basic examples, real and complex hyperbolic spaces, and more general noncompact negatively curved symmetric spaces, we will focus on the work of Balogh and Bonk, who proved that strictly pseudoconvex domains endowed with their Bergman metric are Gromov hyperbolic.
