On the port-Hamiltonian structure of interacting particle systems

abstract: We discuss the port-Hamiltonian structure underlying interacting particle systems with general alignment and potential interactions and show how this structure allows to analyse the long-time behaviour of the system with a La Salle-type argument. Then we see that the port-Hamiltonian structure is preserved in the mean-field limit and that a La Salle-type result in infinite dimensions allows to characterise the long-time behaviour of the mean-field dynamics.
