Integral Lattice Embeddings and Lens Spaces
speaker: JungHwan Park (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology)abstract: Given a lens space, one can consider some natural embeddings of integral lattices associated with the lens space into the standard diagonal integral lattice. In this talk, we will explore these embeddings in two slightly different settings and characterize those lens spaces (and, more generally, connected sums of lens spaces) where such embeddings are unique, with one characterization due to Lisca. We will also discuss some of their applications. The first part of the talk is joint work with Aceto and Celoria, while the latter part is joint work with Aceto and McCoy.
