seminar: Asymptotic compactness for 2D Stochastic Navier-Stokes equations with multiplicative noise

speaker: Zdzislaw Brzezniak (The University of York)

abstract: We investigate a model stochastic Navier-Stokes Equations first introduced in Brzezniak, Capinski & Flandoli (1992). Recently this model for a 2-D torus was studied by Capinski and Cutland (1999) who showed the existence of perfect Random Dynamical system and of a global attractor. We extend those results to any 2-D domain, bounded or unbounded and thus generalise earlier results of Crauel and Flandoli (1994) in the bounded domain case.
