seminar: Mesoscopic models for interface energy in the presence of oscillating fields
speaker: Nicolas Dirr ( Cardiff School of Mathematics, Cardiff University, UK)abstract: We present models which describe the energy of an interface at a mesosopic level, where a gradient term, a double well potential, and a strong but oscillating external field compete. The external field can be periodic or random. We use methods of Gamma-convergence to study the interplay of phase transition and the external field.
