speaker: Richard Sowers (University of Illinois)abstract: We add noise to a relaxation oscillator which exhibits "canards". We identify the appropriate scale of the noise to have a random mechanism which selects regular ducks or headless ducks. Part of the calculations involve stochastic motions near invariant Fenichel-type manifolds.
