Mathematical Modelling in Life Sciences
A Probability Summer School
13 September 2017 - 15 September 2017
Aims
The aim of the school is to introduce and discuss some recent developments in analytical and probabilistic modelling for life sciences.
The school is intended for PhD students and young researchers in the field of mathematical models for biomedical sciences, as well as scholars broadly from applied probability, but open for everyone.
Limited funding will be available to cover the local expenses of some young participants.
- Courses
The school will feature two main courses, by Benoit Perthame (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris) and Sylvie Méléard (Ecole Polytechnique, Paris), as well as additional lectures by François Delarue (Université de Nice), and possibly short contributed talks by some of the participants.
- Poster session
We are planning for a poster session to be held on the first day in the afternoon. It will take place only if we shall receive a sufficient number of worthwhile proposals.
Proposals for poster presentation can be made either upon registration or upon application for financial support respectively, when completing the related forms.
The deadline for submission of the proposals is 15th July 2017.
- Junior support
Some funds are available to offer financial support to a limited number of selected students and young researchers.
The deadline for application is 29th June 2017.
This is the third joint school between Augsburg and Pisa after the summer school on Singular Stochastic PDEs in Pisa and the winter school on Stochastic Homogenization in Augsburg.
