Nonlinear evolution problems

19 September 2006 - 23 September 2006

This event is part of an intensive research period:
Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations.

Aims

Geometric evolution problems arise in many areas of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. Many of these problems, including flow by mean curvature, Ricci flow, wave maps, harmonic heat flow, can be studied by common methods, based on monotonicity, energy identity and others. In this connection the interaction of geometric and analytic aspects is very relevant. In this meeting some of the main experts in this fields, as well as younger researchers, will present the most recent research developments.
