CALL FOR APPLICATIONS (deadline 15th January 2019)

The Centro di Ricerca Matematica "Ennio De Giorgi" invites applications for 5 two-year post-doc research positions named "Junior Visiting Positions" covering the following subject matters:

  • Position n. 1: Algebraic Geometry and/or Number Theory
  • Position n. 2: Topology, Differential Geometry and/or Geometric Analysis
  • Position n. 3: Partial Differential Equations and/or Probability
  • Position n. 4: Numerical Analysis and/or Financial Mathematics
  • Position n. 5: Dynamical Systems

    Three positions are entirely funded by the Centro De Giorgi, one is partially supported by the "Fondazione Emma e Giovanni Sansone".
    Position n. 5 is entirely funded by UniCredit Bank as part of the research project "Dynamics and Information Theory Research Institute" under the agreement in force between the Scuola Normale Superiore and UniCredit S.p.a.

    Appointments will be made for two years, subject to positive evaluation of the research activity carried out during the first year.
    The annual gross remuneration is around 33,000 Euros, corresponding to a monthly salary of approximately EUR 2,000 after tax.
    An additional research allowance will also be available up to EUR 1,000 per year depending on the CRM financial resources. Residual amounts cannot be moved to the following year.
    Contracts should preferably be started in October 2019. It is not possible to start the visit during the month of August, when the Centre is closed.
    Visitors are expected to be resident and actively participate in the research activities of the Centre.

    Applicants who obtained their PhD within the past 5 years are particularly encouraged to apply. PhD students can also apply, provided they obtain their PhD no later than 1st October 2019.
