On the representation of the symmetric group on the cohomology of the toric variety associated with the type A Coxeter complex
speaker: Michelle Wachs (University of Miami)abstract: We give a decomposition of the representation of the symmetric group on the cohomology of the toric variety associated with the type A Coxeter complex into virtual representations, which we conjecture are actual representations. Since this decomposition has significance in enumerative combinatorics, we are hopeful that it might have some geometric significance as well. This is joint work with John Shareshian.
