abstract: I will discuss the superfluidity in systems where the pairing occurs between fermions lying on different Fermi-surfaces. The unequal population arises in a number of systems, such as dilute atomic gases, nuclear, and quark matter; in the case of atomic gases the system can be manipulated in experiments. When the population imbalance is large enough new phases with broken space symmetries arise. Thermodynamic properties of such systems, including the current carrying LOFF state, will be discussed.
