Summer School of Mathematics for Economics and Social Sciences

The School aims to improve the knowledge of mathematical methods among graduate students in economics and social sciences, with a focus on those techniques which albeit widespread in use are not properly covered in typical graduate programmes. Each year the courses focus on one specific topic. They cover both formal tools and applications and are integrated with seminars by invited speakers presenting actual research activities. Lecturers are selected among the leading scholars in the field. The School is an interdisciplinary venue intended to foster the interaction of people coming from the too often separated communities of mathematical and social scientists. The school is partially supported by Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, PhD programme in Economics.
According to selection, 24 participants are entitled to receive support and 6 are admitted without support.
