This event is part of an intensive research period:
Advanced asymptotics of PDEs, modeling and extreme statistics and their applications to data analysis in cell biology.
The aim of this workshop is to present and discuss recent advanced topics in analysis, numerical methods, and statistical physics methods for modeling and quantifying cellular functions and organization.
We will focus here on recent the asymptotic of PDEs to study rare events. Applications are diffusion processes, Mean First Passage Times and Narrow Escape Times.
Specific methods to be discussed are WKB, matched asymptotics boundary layer, Green's function, homogenization procedures and analysis of jump and search processes.
During the meeting, one hour teaching class per day will introduce the topic to students.
