Research key-phrases:
reasoning under uncertainty, non classical
logics, rationality decision making, rational interaction.
Background:
The Logical Foundations of Rational Interaction Group was formed in
January 2009 as a joint effort between the Scuola Normale Superiore
in Pisa, the University of Florence and the University of Siena. It
is an interdisciplinary research group whose members specialize in
various areas of logic, mathematics and philosophy.
Research goals:
The goal of our group is best described as the
attempt to couple the logico-mathematical characterization of
rational reasoning under uncertainty with a careful study of its
philosophical and methodological underpinnings. This two-fold focus
constitutes, in our view, the most appropriate strategy to tackle
the highly complex task of understanding rational decision-making
and interaction.
Funding:
Our research is partly funded by the Fondazione Monte dei
Paschi di Siena.
