Workshop on "Teichmüller theory and surfaces in 3-manifolds"

This event is part of an intensive research period:
Teichmüller theory and surfaces in 3-manifolds.

Aims

The workshop will mainly focus on the following topics:

  • Riemann surfaces, hyperbolic surfaces, CP1-structures
  • Geometric structures on Riemann surfaces, representation of surface groups
  • Teichmuller theory, special mappings between surfaces
  • Riemannian and Lorentzian 3-manifolds of constant curvature
  • Surfaces immersed in 3-manifolds, minimal surfaces.

    Some funds are available to offer financial support to a limited number of selected students (up to 20 in shared double rooms) and young researchers (post-docs in studios for two persons). Deadline for application is 25th April 2014.

    Participants who are applying for financial support are kindly asked to communicate the names and the email addresses of two referees (recommenders) to the following email address: frigerio@dm.unipi.it
